Welcome beetles

The local news reports that more beetles are being released in Maine to control invasive species. The first batch were hungry for purple loosestrife. This next batch hungry for the wee wooly adelgid that is attacking native hemlock trees.

The adelgid is quite easy to spot on hemlocks, and it's a hot species in Maine right now. Time to add a new invader to our list, and keep eyes peeled.
